About This Item

1918. Original poster. Color lithograph. 27.5 x 20.25 inches.

This World War I Red Cross poster features a black and white, head and shoulders, sketch of President Woodrow Wilson, below which, in bold black letters, is an appeal to the viewer, as if from the President, urging them to join the humanitarian movement. Leo Mielziner (1869-1935) was a noted portrait artist of the era. There are some tears to the top, bottom and right margins but otherwise, the poster is in good condition.
