Description:
New York: Saraband Press, 1984. First Edition. Sewn card covers with gilt-stamped lettered jacket; Small folio. 34 pp. Eight poems beautifully printed on dampened Johannot paper; titling in blue. One of 250 copies signed by Clampitt; this is one of Clampitt's own copies, unnumbered but signed in the colophon, and additionally inscribed on the half title: "For Richard Howard to whose generosity I am so greatly beholden with thanks and vast admiration.  Amy Clampitt.  17 February 1985." Covers with a few blemishes and soiling, mostly on rear; still easily very good in added removable mylar cover. Lacking publisher's slipcase. An excellent association copy: Howard was a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for poetry, the NBA for translation, and a longtime Poetry Editor for the Paris Review (where he published what is probably her best-known interview).
