Notable foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Previous owner's name & other pen marks to front endpaper. Mild wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with tanning to spine. Mild scuffing, staining and marking to boards. Book has a forward lean.

Australia: Ward Lock, 1925. Book. Illus. by Harold Copping. Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Dark green boards, foxing present. Slight corner wear, rear hinge is starting. Have also seen the 1st in light beige boards. All plates present (Frontis and three in the body of the book). True 1st with the date.

Ward, Lock & Co., Limited 1925. Sm. octavo hardcover (VG-); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. Ordering more than one book may reduce your overall postage costs.

Pictorial cloth; covers slightly bumped and rubbed; edges, endpapers and preliminaries slightly foxed; a very good copy with the colour pictorial dustwrapper chipped and torn with a little loss (chiefly to the extremities).

Pp. 248(last blank)+[8](advertisements), frontispiece plus 3 plates by Harold Copping; cr. 8vo; pictorial dull olive green cloth, lettered in red & black and illustrated in light brown & black, a trifle soiled and rubbed; price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly soiled and foxed, edges rubbed and split, with piece torn from top edge of front panel near backstrip, and a few small tape repairs on reverse; scattered foxing; Ward, Lock & Co., Limited, London, n.d.[c. 1940?]. Reprinted? *Collates as for Muir 1115 [the first edition] and retains the first edition date (1925) on the title page, but the author's other books listed on the back panel of the dust wrapper end with Peter & Co., which was published in 1940. The dust wrapper illustration, which features a kangaroo on the front panel and a koala on the backstrip, is not by Harold Copping, and does not match the dust wrapper of the first edition (which was a repeat of the illustration on the upper board).
