Dust jacket has clipped rear flap; residue from sticker removal at top of author's photo on back; light soiling; top and bottom of jacket at spine are reinforced on the inside; is now in new removable protective cover. Beige cloth covered boards with black print on spine and front; boards are worn with light soiling and bumped corners; SF written in black library marker on spine. Illustrated endpapers (maps of Poloda). The leaf containing page 215 / 216, together with the illustration between p. 214 and p. 215, appear to be professionally tipped in at some point after the book was initially bound.
