All 12 volumes present; final volume features a large, fold-out color map at rear. Books are solidly bound and entirely free of markings. Leather on spines is fraying along ends/edges and raised bands; gilt typeface and design on spine remains quite vibrant. Bound into 3/4 brown leather with gilt and teal decorative boards. Gilt spine lettering and designs. Color frontispiece in each volume and many additional plates throughout in color and black and white. Large fold-out color map in rear of vol 6. Top edges gilt. First 8 volumes on Japan, volumes 9-12 are on China. Bindings are tight. The spines are sun toned and some are a bit spotted or rubbed.
