Description:
Stockholm: Albert Bonniers Förlag. 1959. First Swedish edition, first printing. First Swedish edition, first printing. Original white card covers with titles in black, a small illustration in black to the lower cover, and an illustration in black, blue and green to the upper cover. Illustrated with a frontispiece and eight full-page illustrations, smaller head and tail pieces throughout in black and white by Tove Jansson. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the wraps with a few faint marks and light toning to the extremities. The contents, lightly toned to the margins, are clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. An attractive example. Tove Jansson beautifully marries her distinctively restrained, whimsical style with Lewis Carroll's fantastical nonsense poem. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
