Hogarth Press, 1959. Hardcover. Good. 1959. Reprinted. 147 pages. No dust jacket. Grey cloth covered boards with gilt. Black and white portrait affixed at front and envelope containing letter signed by author affixed at rear. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. A previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled.

The price clipped jacket has a closed tear at the head, and its blurb has left shadows on both the front and back end papers; the body of the book is in excellent condition, apart from very minor foxing to the title page. A clean, unmarked and solid copy. "Rosalind Frances Howard, Countess of Carlisle (née Stanley; 20 February 1845 - 12 August 1921), known as The Radical Countess, was a promoter of women's political rights and temperance movement activist.
