Goldenrod stapled paper wraps with gray front board, 68 pp., many BW illus. Issued in conjunction with a 1972 exhibition of artwork by key American illustrators. With an essay by Rowland Elzea. Explores the topic first from European sources (from Aubrey Beardsley to Frederick Walker), and then on to the Americans (Edwin Austin Abbey to Frederick C. Yohn). With a variety of illustrations, as can be expected. An uncommon and interesting catalogue.
