A vintage set of Signet paperbacks in the popular 'D' series edition with uniform vignette cover artwork and bold 'A James Bond Thriller' lettering. The final three titles are FIRST PRINTINGS, designated 'P' series (not issued as 'D' series). Expected toning to cheap paper stock. A used set with some signs of reading and handling, some creases/soiling, ink ownership to For Your Eyes Only' and 'Thunderball', discreet ink price '10p' to 'Goldfinger'. Shows well as a set. London: Pan Books, [and] Triad / Granada, [and] Coronet. 1963-1992. [James Bond Novels] COMPLETE FILM TIE-IN SERIES in the standard paperback format. 13 volumes. Octavo (19 x 11 x 19cm), each in the publisher's soft covers printed with a design celebrating the recent filming of the title. Some browning/toning to the cheap paperstock as expected. Some toning/sunning to spines, reading creases to same, light rubbing in places, owner name to 'Octopussy', ink stamps to 'Golden Gun' and 'The Living Daylights', small area of tip-ex to inside cover of 'Diamonds', remainder free from markings. A very good set, complete in this format; a further Fleming-Bond film tie-in would be issued by Penguin books for 'Casino Royale' (2006), but this was part of the larger-sized 'Modern Classics' series; the film tie-ins for The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker were not written by Fleming, and no UK tie-in was produced for A View To A Kill. US/UK: Titan Books, 2004-5. [Comic strip anthologies, series 1-3] Tall paperbacks in illustrated glossy covers. Strips written by Ian Fleming, Henry Gammidge, Anthony Hern and Jim Lawrence, illustrated by John McLusky and Yaroslav Horak. Mixed printings. With introductions by Roger Moore, Eunice Gayson, Shirley Eaton, George Lazenby, Lucy Fleming, Maud Adams and Caroline Munro. Fine throughout. This group represents the complete comic-strip adaptations of Ian Fleming's James Bond stories, which were serialised in the Daily Express from 1958-1968 (series 1-3). After Fleming's original texts were exhausted the third series continued, penned by others from 1969-76. Series 4 appeared in The Sunday Express in 1977, and Series 5 was published in the Daily Star from 1981-3. From the significant Ian Fleming collection of Martin Schøyen (b.1940). Mixed printings, includes five first impressions (Dr No, Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only, Thunderball and Octopussy. No ink names or writing, pages a little toned as expected, light handling. A crisp, near fine set. From the comprehensive archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencil signature within). A vintage set of Pan paperbacks in the collectable 'Still Life' series with wraparound photographic cover art. Various printings (no first impressions were issued in these covers). No ink names or stamps. Cheap paper toned as expected, covers with acceptable wear, some reading creases to spines, some rubbing and sunning. Very good. Thirteen of the fourteen original James Bond books were issued in this series; 'Live and Let Die' being issued exclusively in film tie-in covers throughout this period, to promote the 1973 movie. London: Coronet Books / Hodder & Stoughton, 1990s. [Spy Fiction] 14 volumes, complete. Bibliographer's copies. Octavo (18 x 12cm). Publisher's softcovers. With retro cover designs by Bill Gregory, David Scutt and Paul Robinson. Mixed printings (never available in these covers as first printings). No owner names. Paper stock a little toned as expected, covers bright, light reading creases to one or two spines. Overall a clean, fine set. Coronet first published the James Bond series in 1988 with simple 'silhouette' style artwork; these colourful revised covers were released in the mid-1990s. From the comprehensive archive of Ian Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert (pencil ownership within), whose comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography.

A vintage set of Triad paperbacks, ALL FIRST PRINTINGS, in the classic 'girl and gun' series with giant golden 9mm automatic pistol. Publisher's softcovers. Clean throughout, most books are fine [Moonraker a little rubbed, reading crease to spine]. An excellent set. Now difficult to assemble as a group of first printings.

London: Ian Fleming Publications Ltd., 2023. [Spy thrillers] JAMES BOND PAPERBACKS, with his two non-fiction books. Sixteen volumes, octavos (20 x 13cm). A full set of this edition, all FIRST PRINTINGS with number line/strike line '1'. Publisher's softcovers with strikingly minimalist designs. Absolutely fine / as new. This is the first edition produced wholly under the Ian Fleming Publications imprint. IFP (formerly Glidrose) is the company which administers all Fleming's literary works.

London: Pan Books, 1960s. [Spy thrillers] JAMES BOND PAPERBACKS. Fourteen volumes. Octavos (18 x 12 x 18). A vintage set of Pan paperback printings in the classic 'X' series with cover artwork and bold 'James Bond' lettering after designs by Raymond Hawkey. Cheap paper stock toned as usual, three books with ink ownership (From Russia, Live Twice and Golden Gun). Externally very good with some expected wear, reading creases, spine roll, a few small nicks etc. Includes two first printings ('Thunderball' and 'Spy'). Very good, with a few titles in this series becoming rather scarce. Introduced on Thunderball in 1963 (here in first printing), the stylish 'X' series featured "iconic JAMES BOND lettering, being larger and bolder than either the book title or the author's name. A vintage set of Pan paperbacks in the classic white 'Model' series with photo covers and the bold 'James Bond' lettering designed by Raymond Hawkey. Single ink name 'Simon' to Dr.No else no writing, cheap paper toned as expected, covers are lightly used, occasional toning to spines, minor wear. A very good set (some close to fine). London: Jonathan Cape Ltd., 1992-4. [Spy thrillers] FIRST EDITIONS thus. Three omnibus volumes containing all the original James Bond novels and issued by the original publisher in this new format. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.768, pp.928, pp.847. Publisher's black cloth with various coloured metallic titles to spines. With the pictorial dust-jackets, variously priced. These are thick, heavy books and usually suffer from knocks and creasing to jackets, sunning to red lettering on spine, etc. In addition, many copies were sent to libraries. These copies have been read and show some light marks/dustiness to edges of text blocks, no inscriptions or writing within, jackets lightly handled with some minor wear and some sunning to the red titles of the final volume. Shows well. Most uncommon. Cape had previously published The James Bond Onmibus (1973), which contained three titles, but it was not until the early 90s that the whole set was issued in an omnibus series by Cape. London: Penguin Books / Past Times, 2002. [Spy series] LIMITED EDITION BOX SET. A rare, complete set with the all-important limitation card. Fourteen volumes, small octavo (19 x 12 x 27cm). Softcovers with photographic cover art by Toby MacFarlan Pond. Anniversary edition, marking 50 years since the writing of Casino Royale. Limited to 2000 numbered sets, of which this is number 0394. The full set, all absolutely fine and unread, shrink-wrapped in the original pictorial slip-case with the exclusive bookmark bearing the printed limitation number, very often missing once the shrinkwrap was opened. As such, complete sets are particularly scarce. Originally retailing at £70 exclusively through chain store Past Times, this important set was the first limited and numbered edition of Fleming's works to be offered for sale. It also represents the first occasion that all fourteen James Bond titles were sold together in the UK. Gilbert F6.

Publisher's hardcovers stamped in gilt, decorated with author's initials in gilt to to cover, plain black endpapers. As new. This series comprises fifteen selected titles, uniformly cased in harlequin colours, being the remaining sheets from the Ian Fleming Centenary Edition in an elegant new hardback binding for 2022. Each book marked 'out-of-series' to the limitation leaf and signed by the publisher.

Bound in original silver-stamped black cloth in striking dust-jackets with 'retro' style artwork by Michael Gillette. A clean, fine, unread set. A particularly uncommon set in hardcover, issued to celebrate the 100th birthday of the author (28th May 2008). Only 4000 complete sets were published. Publisher's hardbacks in original illustrated dust-jackets. All Cape printings (the original publisher of the James Bond novels), the final three titles being first impressions. A uniform set which shows well. No owner inscriptions or ink names, some light edge spotting to a few volumes, jackets generally bright and fresh with minor wear only, three titles are price clipped (OHMSS, YOLT, OCT), three are re-priced by Cape (DAF, FYEO, SPY), 'Live and Let Die' jacket is laminated, some wear/rubs to inside gutter, 'Spy' has a Bond film-related news-clipping to endpaper, overall gently aged and generally quite fresh. An attractive vintage set; with early hardcovers much in demand, and many being destined for the library system, this series is becoming rather difficult to assemble in decent order.

Replica hardcover volumes of foil-stamped bookcloth, illustrated dust-wrappers. The complete set in the original pictorial card slip-cases. Some trivial handling. All books in fine, unread condition, showing minimal handling to jackets and slipcases, some minor shelf rubs to lower edges of boxes.
