Original publisher's brown cloth - gilt embossed to the spine and stamped in black to the front board. Black endpapers. Tissue-guarded frontispiece of the author. Some moisture damage to the upper 2 board corners - more noticable to the rear one with slight associated marking to the upper corners of the endpapers and still less so to the extreme upper corners of the last 3 leaves. A good plus or very good minus essentially clean, tight copy of this the first edition.
