London: Enitharmon Press,, 1970. Proof printing. The British Surrealist poet David Gascoyne (1916-2001) wrote this work after suffering one of many breakdowns that he endured during his lifetime. The published edition was limited to 350 copies. Octavo. Unbound proof stamped "Enithermon Press Proof" comprising five gatherings sewn together but without binding. Illustrations in the text. Ownership signature to half-title. Minor closed tear to first leaf and light soiling to first and final leaves; a near-fine copy with many leaves unopened.
