In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; slightly creased along top edge. Not price clipped). Mild foxing to edges. Personal note and obit loose in front. Author’s neat personal inscription, dated 1987 to half title page. Else a very clean and tight copy. 276 pp. With b/w photographs and maps. The author, who fought at Arnhem, tells the story of the disastrous operation that resulted in a strengthening of the German forces, rather than their destruction. He shows why the disasters happened as they did.
