Description:
London: Virtue, Hall, & Virtue, 1853. 4 volumes uniformily bound in the publisher's green cloth, gilt. A complete set of the four tiles covering the whole of Ireland. [v. 1] Dublin and Wicklow -- [v. 2] The north and Giant's Causeway -- [v. 3] The south and Killarney -- [v. 4] The west and Connamara. 18cms. No wear or marks but the spines and extremities sunned as often. Single volumes appear on the market ocassionally but rarely found in the complete set. Each voulune is a fine copy and also still present are the flaps that fold over from the fore-edge of the front covers and tuck into the rear of the text block protecting the fore-edges. Each with a silk tie. Each volume has an engraved map and text vignette illustrations. The volume 'The West and Connamara has a small owners name in ink dated 1853 to the top of the front free end-paper.. 1st Edition. Hardba. Fine. 8vo.
