Smaller octovo in leather spine over boards, tight binding, unfoxed pages, the cover has been rather recently rebacked in tan leather with 5 bands, hinges reinforced ages ago, missing endsheets, plates missing(though one partial remains), one leaf at p. 225 absent, and one corner on p.305 has left, edges of pages lightly darkening/staining, pages crinkly, else complete and stable intact. Scarce. .

The Parfait Mareschal (Compleat Farrier) was first published in France in 1644.This First Edition in English, Translated by Sir William Hope, was adapted from the Eighth French Edition. After studying at Lyon, Solleysell, a celebrated "Master of Horse", moved to Paris, there to practice his trade in the most celebrated riding schools of the day.
