A tight, square copy with no names or other marking in or on the book.

The action is set, rather unusually for Woolrich, in 1915. .

The black jacket has a little edgewear, with a tiny chip at the top of the spine. The second novel by Cornell Woolrich written under the pseudonym of George Hopley. $2.50 price on jacket flap; no names or other marking in or on the book.

Bookplate to inside front pastedown. General light handling wear, but a solid very good copy overall in price-intact dustwrapper with some light staining to the dustwrapper flaps and verso. Presents quite well.

A typically unforgiving jacket in terms of showing wear poorly, this example is almost entirely unrubbed, and still retains the gloss on the uncoated paper. First Printing. Octavo; black cloth, with titling and rule stamped in yellow and red on spine; dustjacket; 245pp. A few pinpoint rubs at spine ends, with a hint of offset to front endpaper, else Fine. Dustjacket is price-clipped, with a few pinpoint rubs to extremities and two tiny tears along upper edge of front wrapper; very Near Fine - about the best we've seen for this title.
