Howard Chase was based in New Hampshire and traveled to the pianos he tuned. This is an autobiographical account by a tradesman who became much in demand. He had begun studying piano-tuning in 1938 when skilled practitioner Edgar M Quint of Concord N.H. agreed to take him on as a pupil.
