Spotting and soiling, primarily to the front cover, otherwise, only light rubbing to the binding; gilt top edge is a bit soiled; small, 1/2" closed tear to the fore-edge of the all of the preliminary leaves including the frontispiece, as well as the first two leaves of the body of the text; owner stamp to the title pages; foxing to the frontispiece and adjacent leaves, otherwise contents are largely clean but for one marginal note in pencil correcting a regiment number; a few leaves roughly opened.
