Noted collector and bibliophile Abel Berland's copy, with his small neat signed pencil inscription on rear endpaper and no other markings throughout. Laid in is a Christopher Beys leaflet, probably acquired in London by Berland, printed at Cuckoo Hill Press and gold-blocked by George Perciva and Rigby Graham. Very nice association copy. A clean, unmarked and unclipped copy in a Brodart cover.

This copy was purchased by noted collector Abel Berland from renowned Chicago bookseller Jerry Nedwick, as noted and signed by Berland in pencil on the back endpaper. It has his bookplate on the front free endpaper, and laid in is a leaflet, ACTA: Christophori Beiisii. printed on handmade paper by the Cuckoo Hill Press in England for the Typophiles, and bears relation to the book. Both book and jacket are pristine, extremely scarce in this condition.

Dard Hunter (1883–1966) was an American authority on printing, paper, and papermaking—especially by hand, using the tools and craft of four centuries prior. Hunter produced two hundred copies of his book Old Papermaking, preparing every aspect of the book himself: he wrote the text, designed and cast the type, did the typesetting, handmade the paper, and printed and bound the book. A display at the Smithsonian Institution that appeared with his work read, " In the entire history of printing, these are the first books to have been made in their entirety by the labors of one man. " .
