Description:
Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1886 Illustrated by Miss C.A. Northam, J. Francis Murphy and Edmund H. Garrett. This wonderful hardback is in GOOD CONDITION. 59 pages bound in gold cloth with beveled edges, brown decorative lettering and designs, with gold gilt lettering and church on spine. Front cover contains a crafted metal sculptural relief, after F.B. Schell's engraving, depicting the St. Botolph church and Lincolnshire village, in beveled inset. Floral endpapers, front inside endpaper missing. Gold gilt edges all around. Owners name on fly page, very faint. Frontis is an engraving of author with tissue guard, and her signature. Pages 53-59 are loose and last illustration is torn in half. Hinges loose but intact. Surface soiling on covers. STILL A VERY NICE COPY AND RARE INDEED.

Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1886. Hardcover. Very Good. 1886 Green cloth 4to, 58pp. Illustrated throughout in black and white, with inset gilt bas relief of a Boston Cathedral on the cover. Beveled boards, all edges gilt. In very good condition with light shelfwear and ink spotting to the rear board. Appears to be lacking a front prelim, contents otherwise bright, clean and unmarked. A beautiful anthology of poems, graciously illustrated.
