With listing of the Naturalist's Library; half title; black and white engraved frontispiece of Madame Merian; black and white vignette title page - showing 2 cherubs chasing butterflies; 2 further title pages; an advert; contents listing; Memoir of Maria Sibilla Merian; text with 30 hand coloured plates bound in; and a 4 page publisher's catalogue (for Simpkin Marshall) at the rear.
