Charles Scribner's, 1926. Book. Illus. by N.C. Wyeth. Very Good. Cloth. An early reprint of the original 1921 edition. A good sound copy, with noted flaws. Only 8 of the N.C. Wyeth illustrations are present, and 8 pages in the beginning have an old stain outline at the side edge. Front and rear endpage hinges are perfect, but title page gutter has a narrow crack. The pages and endpages are clean and unmarked, and the Wyeth are bright and well-preserved. The facing page to title page has some foxspots, but otherwise free of foxing. Attractive vintage pegasus bookplate on front pastedown. Bright covers, with horizontal scratch to front inset, and mild rubbing to tips and ends. Still attractive overall!.

Wyeth, full-color, including at title page, and with lovely duotone endpapers front and rear and full-cover, full-color pasted-on paper labels to front cover, quite fine. 1930 reprint of the 1921 edition. Gilt at spine is sharp and bright. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket almost entirely absent; inner flaps are detached, present; front inner flap attached to a protective clear plastic wrapper, and rear inner flap is laid-in at inside back cover. Full vertical glue stain to fore-edge margin of RFEP; this appears to be a consequence of an attempt to attach the rear inner flap to clear wrapper, as like the front flap. Interior else clean, pages toned, text unmarked.

The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [$3.95] and is fair with considerable edgewear and rubbing, just a few chips, very little paper loss.. Hard Cover.
