GB: Morrison Etc, 1824. Rebound in 1987 in black cloth with vellum (or vellum-like) spine with old leather title label (likely from original). 12 and 504 pages. A typewritten letter dated 3.2.58 from John Grant Booksellers of Edinburgh (signed S. Hawthorn) offers the book to Dr J.D.F.Thornton of Ottershaw in Surrey for seven guineas. He evidently bought it. Pencil notes show it was rebound in 1887 and Thornton's small bookplate is on front pastedown. The signature of "Robert Pitcairn W.S. July 1840" is on a slip taken from original pastedown and now pasted to verso of front endpaper. Very clean tight text has a little spotting. Some sections the text is undulated or waved for no apparent reason. Clean sound covers. . 1st Edition. Hardback. VG/No DW.
