In contemporary boards, corners & edges bumped & worn. 20c soiled paper spine, printed titles to paper label. Internally, frontis, [4], 124-185 pp, 1 pl, music scores (104 approx), words and some historical notes, p 180/181 bound upside down, pencil note to tp. Uncommon. (Libri Walliae 2870). Title continues: Part the Second of the First Volume, containing the Music Only. 3rd edition, corrected, with additions. Jones, harpist and music antiquary, was a serious scholar who made a notable contribution to the antiquarianism which typified much of the scholarship of his period. His library was extensive, and his research into both primary and secondary sources, including the old Welsh laws and Welsh grammars, enabled him not only to present music, but also to write in some depth about it.
