Alfred A. Knopf, 1942. Hardcover. Good. Each volume published October 1942: Autumn (11th printing), Winter (8th printing), Spring (6th printing), Summer (5th printing). Four volumes, complete. Red cloth, light shelf-wear, sunning to spines, with particularly strong spine fade on "Spring," "Summer," and "Autumn." Spines square. Binding of "Summer" is cracked to mull at the first page of chapter one, with glue bleed accompanying. Binding else intact, and the bindings of the other volumes are sound. Staining/discoloration from glue at publication is present at inner hinges of all four volumes, and at the full paste downs of "Autumn." Prior owner's blind stamp to title page of all four volumes, and also to the Publisher's Note of "Summer." Pages else clean, texts unmarked.

Władysław Stanisław Reymontt (Polish: [vwaˈdɨswaf ˈɾɛjmɔnt], born Rejment; 7 May 1867 – 5 December 1925) was a Polish novelist and the laureate of the 1924 Nobel Prize in Literature. His best-known work is the award-winning four-volume novel Chłopi (The Peasants).
