Description:
New York:: Grosset & Dunlap, 1931.. Hardbound . BINDING/CONDITION: this binding is atypical for the series -- not the usual 'tweed', but plain reddish-brown boards with the earlier vignette used for this series (looks like a running wolfhound); (this running dog vignette was later replaced with the device showing series title on a small banner with G&D in the center); a Very Good book, with a Very Good dust jacket; the jacket is price clipped.. 8vo (8.5 inches tall) . Description: Originally published in 1903; the most recent date given here is a 1931 copyright renewal; this edition from the Famous Dog Stories series is circa 1950s, and is not illustrated, other than three small black and white drawings (not credited). The jacket art bears the artist's signature, but I cannot make it out.
