Occasional spotting, particularly to the endpapers. Provenance: Contemporary ownership inscription to both volumes: "Edward J. O'Brien October 22, 1919 Secretum meum mihi" [The secret is mine].Edward Joseph Harrington O'Brien, published as Edward J. O'Brien (1890–1941) writer, poet, editor and anthologist. Some of the authors first brought to public attention by O'Brien include Erskine Caldwell, Dorothy Parker, William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, William Saroyan, Hemingway etc.
