Description:
Laguna Beach, Ca: Laguna Verde Imprenta, 1977. First edition. First separate appearance of Ritchie's tribute to Jeffers written shortly after his death. Unbound, unstitched folded proof sheets. Laid in TRIAL COVER with marbled paper design differing from that of other copies examined. With THREE DIFFERENT TITLE PAGES - one with color blocking matching that in the finished book, one with the brown blocking a little darker, and one with green blocking. The exceedingly scarce eventual book was issued in a stated limitation of only "about 50 copies" and printed by Ritchie himself on an Albion hand press. PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT THE COMPLETE BOOK. Includes multiple copies of some sheets but lacking pages 27-28 and 31-33. Fine condition.
