Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout however binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Heavy sunning to all surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

That volume was quarto and illustrated; the exigencies of war render this one much more modest.Some spotting to free endpapers. Covers a bit faded at spine and edges. Very good in good, nicked, slightly chipped and rubbed dustwrapper a bit creased at rear panel. Becoming scarce.
