Nairn at Lassintullich, an old sporting Lodge in Scotland. Covers show bumped corners, spine darkened, front cover sunned, loss to upper edge of the spine.

Dundee bookseller’s label and armorial bookplate of Peter Carmichael to front pastedown. The first edition of this posthumously published collection of observations by Scottish naturalist Charles St. John (1809-1856), which his wife Anne St. John edited anonymously. This copy was sold by Frederick Shaw of Dundee in the nineteenth century.
