Very clean covers with no fading or marks. However, the book's text block was obviously exposed to severe moisture since the pages have slight warping (not bad), and two of the photo plate (page 136) have been stuck together (now harshly opened) resulting in a tear in one leaf and some scrappy loss at separation points --- see photo. Otherwise the book is solid and is a great reading/salvage copy. Pages have no staining or tidelines, no foxing, binding is tight, reading copy with all pages and plates. The endpapers and the edges have mild foxing while the pages remain largely clear and free of markings. Filled with black-and-white and color photographs.

Handsigned & dated autograph of Herbert Tichy is tipped-in on the pre-title page (like an errata slip, not fully pasted down, only pasted at hinge). The original dust jacket is in nice condition with no tears and no chips. The DJ has darkening of the spine and the inside front flap corner is clipped.
