Tim Severin recreates one of the most famous travel stories of all time, the seven voyages of Sindbad the Sailor from The Thousand and One Nights. Book is in good condition with minor general wear and tear and moderate page discolouration/spotting throughout. Boards also in good condition with only minor shelf wear and scuffing. Dust jacket is in fair to good condition. The front of the dust jacket shows two 1-inch sized tears and it has been price clipped, otherwise no other pre-loved markings..

Tim Severin's classic 8 month adventure which sought to recreate Sinbad's epic journey from the Middle East to China. The 6,000 mile journey is undertaken in a ship –the Sohar- built with materials and methods from Sinbad's time. The whole thrilling adventure is here: across the Arabian Sea to India, then to Sri Lanka and Sumatra, and finally through the China Seas. Although the voyages of Sinbad were full of myth and legend, Severin shows they were undoubtedly based on the exploits of the Arab sea-faring merchants who plied the ancient spice routes to the East.
An excellent copy. Pages are clean and tidy. No marks, staining or creasing, and no inscriptions. Cloth boards are tight and clean. DJ is unclipped and unmarked with no real noticeable wear except for minor largely concealed tanning at the top and bottom of the flaps.
