With a pithy inked inscription on the verso of the title page, signed by Vince Marinaro, in which he states his belief that his book is a continuation of 500 years of extraordinary and personal involvement in fly fishing. Also an 11 x 8 monograph sheet written in ink where Mr.Marinaro elucidates a little more on the nature of fly fishing and his contribution to it. Color plates showing artificial fly patterns effective for slow-moving streams. Black and white photos. Text drawings. Probably the most influential angling book of the mid-twentieth century because of its break-through research, descriptions and accounts of trout rise forms, and the fly patterns and techniques to imitate them.
