Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott & Co., 1861. Hardcover. Fair. Two volume set. 15 x 10 cm. 24mo. 200pp, 287pp. 1/4 leather and Marble boards. Illustrated with 100 fold-out plates which include diagrams, illustrations of troopers, battle plans. Plates are in nice condition. Early edition with 1860 on copyright pages and 1861 on title pages. Forward attributed to J. R. Poinsett: "The system of Cavalry Tactics, adapted to the organization of Dragoon regiments, having been approved by the President of the Untied States, is now published for the government of the said service". There was also a third part done, "Evolutions of a Regiment" which is not included here. The front covers are nearly completely detached. A "binding copy
