[Providence: neither publisher nor printer identified, 1842. Oblong broadside (approx. 8" x 11½"), printing on the left a pro-Dorrite "Suffrage Pledge" in 7 quatrains in a single column within a typographic border; and alongside, another tongue-in-cheek pro-Dorrite "Rhode-Island Algerines' appeal to John Davis," in 11 quatrains in double column, also within a typographic border. The whole is mounted on a sheet of an old Providence newspaper; toned, stained, and wrinkled, short tears entering from the margins, and one long mended tear affecting several letters (sense remains clear); good at best, but rare. Brown and Harvard only in OCLC. These two songs/poems were perhaps meant to be separated, but there's reason to believe they weren't. For one thing, both pieces are pro-Dorr. For another, neither seems to exist on its own. And, the two recorded copies are just like this: unseparated.
