In original brown cloth with gilt titling, 4to, 820pp. (Shelfwear, rubbing, darkening and dulling to cloth, tips and corners rubbed and bumped, browning to edges and pages from age, first couple of pages coming loose at inner hinge)

Hardcover book has half leather tan calf binding and marbled boards in maroon and white with blue accents. Edges are rubbed. Corners are rounded. Boards are visible at corners. Bottom calf corner has top smooth surface layer of leather pulled off in a comb-like pattern about 1" long. Spine has six panels with raised bands; red panel has title 'British Poets'; black panel has title ' Byron - Vol. V' and other panels have decorative tooled gilt devices. Spine has some scratches. Top of spine is chipped and rubbed. Covers and spine have gilt rules at all edges of calf. Endpapers and all edges are marbled in red and white with blue pattern that matches covers. Front endpaper has a bookplate. The contents of volume 5 comprise volumes 9 and 10, 454 and 417 pages, Don Juan, Cantos 1 - 16. No dust jacket.
