Condition: Fair - - the text block is good overall; pages toned but no foxing; titl e page beginning to separate but still intact. Briggs ’ classic work on the joys and frustrations of the sport, most of which had been previously published in the New York Herald-Tri bune. Very good: Externally very clean with rubbed corners, edge s; spine a bit loose; front hinge lightly cracked. Interior clean and bright with no foxing. Notoriously prone to wear, a very nic e copy. .

Covers are rubbed at corners a nd top of spine with a 2" white crayon mark on front cover and so me rubbing to the gilt logo. .
