Generational account of an early California pioneer, his family and particularly his daughter Lee L. Jacks, big landowners in Monterey County; one of the higher points on the hilly Peninsula is "Jacks Peak." Presswork uncredited, but one Arthur Lites is responsible for "decoration and design;" his neat small cypress-tree silhouette, struck in moss-green, may be found on every single page.
