Athens Greece: Krene Editions, 1991. Paperback. 120p., profuse color illustrations both photographic and diagrammatic (floorplans, elevations and pictorials), softbound in 9.5x6.5 inch color cardstock wraps. Book itself has a mildly edgeworn front cover, blank back cover a little rubbed, but the folded map (more of a 3-D reconstruction) is fine. Presentable copy of a Library of Congress Duplicate with LC's rubberstamp to half-title. Otherwise unmarked, and entirely sound and clean.

Skara: Skaraborgs länsmuseum, 1981. pp. 239-348, slender paperback, gift inscription on cover, otherwise very good. Reports on archeological excavations, with some black and white illustrations. Includes discussions (in Swedish) of gold bracteate pendants from Bolum and Vinköl, simple iron production in Skaraborg county, Medieval wooden churches in Västergötland and Sten Karling, and more.

Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1999. Hardcover. xx, 273p., illus., very good condition in an unclipped and yellowed dust jacket with an old price sticker on the front panel.

Cover bears an ownership signature and a few mild smudges, inside find booksellers' marks on first blank, a very good copy. The lower pleistocene of the Central Jordan Valley; the excavations at 'Ubeidiya, 1960-1963, directed by M. Stekelis.

Athens: Etaireia Evvoïkon Spoudon, 1988. 287p., lightly shelfworn wraps, text in Greek with English table of contents; illustrated with black and white photos. Reports of archeology and history of Euboea.

Tubingen: Verlag Ernst Wasmuth, 1955. Hardcover. XII, 439p., profulely illustrated with expert sketches both descriptive and explanatory, plus artist's reconstructions (how such & such gate may have looked, &c). Hardbound in openweave blue cloth boards gilt and enclosed in the dust jacket. Nice condition: the book itself has a short bump to tail-rim, the only detraction from crisp squareness, top edge mildly dust-soiled, gilt remains bright, within find a neat small ownership signature. The dj wasn't so lucky; although complete it is very edgeworn with puncturing scratches. All in all a very good copy. Text exclusively in the German language.

"Art of the Houma Foundry is an illustrated repertory of archaeological finds made at the site of a sixth- to fifth-century B.C. bronze foundry located at modern Houma in Shanxi Province, P.R.C. In the sixth and fifth centuries, Houma was the capital of the state of Jin, a major power in China at the time. The excavation of the foundry site, the largest known in the ancient world, was important above all for the spectacular wealth of decorated clay foundry-debris that was recovered there...

New York: Bell Publishing Company, 1970. Hardcover. 168p., photos, two-page map frontis, front hige cracked otherwise good first printing of the Bell reissue in boards and unclipped dj. First book by the life partners who co-founded the Violet Quill authors group and after their deaths a month apart from AIDS the Ferro-Grumley Foundation was formed.

Ithaca NY: Cornell University, 1911. 205p., softbound in 9x6 inch plain printed grey wraps paste-fastened over a tightly stapled textblock, a utilitarian job not meant to last. No illustrations or imagery. Front cover has torn away from the titlepage (there are no blanks, no halftitle, no frontispiece, no preliminaries of any kind. Damage attendant includes a huge chip from the spine panel, a ragged lefthand edge to cover-leaf and ugly rips to lefthand of titlepage. The remainder of the item is in good order: clean, unmarked, and else sound. This is a reading copy with nothing lacking.

With a large map of Campeche by Alberto Ruz Lhuillier (drawn by Hector Alcala Graniel) showing archeological sites, measuring 25.5 x 34 in., folded to 6.75 x 9 in. and in a manila envelope. Four leaves of advertisements follow the [20] pages of plates. Errata sheet inserted. Ink stamp on cover: A.L. Kroeber. Acta anthropologica, I:2-3. A survey of Mayan archeological sites with a list of expeditions, architectural figures, and photographs of artifacts. This copy belonged to Alfred Louis Kroeber, an anthropology professor at UC Berkeley and director of the Museum of Anthropology. He is remembered for his work with Ishi, and as the father of science fiction author Ursula K. Le Guin.

Vatican City: L. E. V., 1993. Oversized Paperback. 191p., heavy coated paperstock with profuse color site and exhibit photography, diagrams and floorplans with spot color. 10.5x8 inch cardstock wraps, slightest signs of any handling, entirely clean and sound, a near-fine copy.

Paperback. xx, 449p., profuse construction plans (elevations and plats), site and aerial photos, period snapshots; first edition oblong 8.5x11 inch plain printed buff wraps, very good. Abstract states: "This report provides an overview of the tangible remains currently left at the sites." Publications in Anthropology 74. "Through the presentation of text, photographs, maps, and illustrations, this volume details the physical features of all of the facilities used by U.S. government to confine people of Japanese ancestry during World War II. Each of the facilities is treated separately, with coverage including treatments of the relatively historically neglected internment camps.
