Illustrated essay about the work of costume and set designer Horace Armistead who worked on the 1952 production of The Nutcracker by the New York Ballet. Louise Laurent (aka Lily) Hastings was co-editor of Chrysalis and herself a fashion designer, known for her work on Broadway and Off Broadway.

New York: New American Library/Signet, 1964. Paperback. 144p., very good third printing mass-market paperback edition in pictorial wraps. The 1952 Dutton hardcover is Young 368. Signet G 2505. One of Vidal's Edgar Box mystery series, mass market format with a nice period cover illustration. Rave blurb by Gore Vidal himself on cover.

Toronto: Harlequin Books, 1984. Mass Market Paperback. 254p., mass-market size wraps, later printing of the 1983 first. Price in crayon to top corner of first page, paperstock toned, else nice copy. African American romance author using white theme. The first African American to be published by Harlequin. This, her first book, was followed by hardcover issue of her second under the Doubleday imprint. Kitt writes substantial fiction as well as love stuff. American romance #43.

[38]p. including a photographic centerfold in color, some advertising also in color, the rest of the many production stills &c are b&w only. Oversize pamphlet in 12x9 inch yellow and gilt wraps; covers are edgeworn with partial migration of cover gilt onto verso (a corset ad) and a smudge or two within, a fair to good copy.
