Stiff card, slightly larger than 4x6.25 inches, with Powderly's portrait (a sepia photograph from the negative) on one side and text about Ideal Tooth Powder and Ideal Quinine and Sulphur Toilet Soap on the other. Plate measures 3.5x5 inches; his moustache about 1.3 inches from left to right twirl. Very good. One of a series of photo cards that were sold, or distributed for free with the purchase of Ideal products.

n.p., 1886. 5.5x8.5 inch leaflet, printed both sides, creased and toned, with a long split along the vertical fold, going almost the length of the sheet. Calls on the reader to vote for prohibition. "The Knights of Labor are right in their declaration of principles, but they will never succeed while they themselves help divert according to actual revenue statistics, over $500,000,000 annually from commerce into the coffers of the distiller.

Scranton, PA: Dr. D.B. Hand, 1886. handbill leaflet. Small, 4x5 inch card, color-litho illustration of children with chickens on one side, verso is text, featuring an endorsement from T.V. Powderly, leader of the Knights of Labor of Dr. Hand's cures. This chromo-lith a reasonably complex treatment with five to ten onlaid colors, is a not quite saccharine treatment of children teasing penned chickens.

Undated, but this firm appears to have dealt of K of L merchandise in the late 1880s. Targeted to the trade, with wholesale prices listed. "These are the goods that will have an immense sale this spring. Fortify your stock in time, as, when the Knights are ready for trade, (which will be about May 1st), every man, woman and child in the ranks will want a Badge or Charm. The demand cannot be supplied. Our prices are the lowest in the market, and our assortment the best.

Hardcover. xiv, [vi], 615, [xii]p., illustrated boards, front., illus., tissue guards for the illustrations are browned with offsetting on facing pages, corners bumped, boards rubbed and unevenly toned, board illustrations dimmed, endpapers slightly soiled, rear paste-down endpaper is somewhat peeling off, white substance on back board. Associate editors included Terence V. Powderly, Henry George, P.M. Arthur, John McBride, P.J. McGuire and others.
