Brupbacher was expelled from the Swiss Socialist Party in 1914 and from the Communist Party in 1933.

Covers have a few short marginal tears (inconspicuous), a faint touch or two of offset soil, quite sound, otherwise clean, and entirely unmarked. FYI, little or no speculation here about the upcoming Olympics.

With a lengthy presentation inscription by the artist. Catalog of sculptures and paintings by the Swiss-born artist (then residing part-time in California), with a biography of the artist in English, French, and German. Inserted is an invitation to the opening of the artist's first exhibition in the United States at Traveler's Art Gallery (South San Francisco), September 11, 1983.

Hardcover. 24 (ads), xiv, 205p., 25-44 (ads), a very good copy in publisher's original format, 7x5 inch semi-flexible red leather binding gilt, all edges speckled as issued with rounded corner-tips. Head and tail rims are slightly frayed with an eighth-inch loss atop the front joint; that, a neat ownership stamp to ffep, and a sepia signature to first page of Introduction, are the only flaws we see. All folded plates in fine shape as are all vignette illustrations.

A collection of acts and photos from exiled cabaret performers mostly in Switzerland. Cornichon is a type of pickle. Of note on page122-123 is Broadway-Melody 1944 featuring German performers in blackface and a song that begins: "Schwarzer Mann, schwarze Frau, In Amerika, Weißer Mann hat gebracht, Sie aus Afrika. Halleluja!

Paperback. 128p., illustrated profusely in b&w fullpage rectos only, with stats & history opposite versos, a tiny oblong in 4x6 inch color cardstock covers, expect a little external handling wear, a nice copy: otherwise sound, and entirely clean and free of ownerships &c. Extraordinary combo of craft; find ME 109(E)s and P-51s in the same fleet! a rare 108 (it gets two plates). Other German rarities along with British (Hornet, prop) and French (Mirage, jet). The two color cover photos hint at the pretty and oddly various Swiss markings (the 109 appears to be painted dead-black).

Poetry in Swiss-German (Schweizerdeutsch) by the Chicago-based Swiss immigrant cheese-maker, followed by a brief section of English poems. His Carl Marty & Co. was the largest producer of swiss cheese in the United States at the time of its sale to Borden in 1938.
