Quite nice copy of this collection of prose and poetry from the beat era, collected and edited by Barry Miles, a confidante of Kerouac and Ginsberg. In addition to those two, includes pieces from William Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Dianne Di Prima, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Amiri Baraka, Frank O'Hara, and others. Fine in a NF jacket (tiny tear top front corner).

A lovely first printing of this book of comic food poetry for children. Book is fine, jacket has a bit of light wear or creasing, no tears. Not price clipped, previous retailer's sticker over price.

New York: Alfred a Knopf, 1993. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Very nice copy of this memoir from the great American poet James Merrill. Focuses on his time in Europe in the '50s. First printing, Very nearly fine in a like jacket. Jacket has slight bend to top edge, two page corners turned down.

New York : Harcourt Brace, 1958. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Daugherty, James. A collection of Sandburg's poetry, per the flap, "gathered for young readers." Book is as-new with blue cloth boards and illustrated endpapers. Yellow jacket is price-clipped and shows wear along the spine, especially at the top and bottom. Small closed tear to the back of the jacket. A classic from the Illinois legend and multiple Pulitzer winner.

Basil Blackwell, 1923. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Undated, but per previous seller's documentation (purchased from bookseller in Hay on Wye, Wales) first, dating to c.1923. Reddish boards with minimal wear. Woodcut plate with illustration, editor/publisher info pasted to front board. The title on paper pasted to spine shows some wear. Toning/darkening to pastedowns and endpapers as if from previously laid in non-archival paper, no longer present. Previous owner's name in ink on front free endpaper. Otherwise, internally clean save for a couple of spots of toning.foxing not affecting text. Very attractive copy particularly for the age.

Norton, W.W., 1989. First Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Dove's fourth volume of poetry, first after winning the Pulitzer. This is a first printing, fine in a very nearly fine jacket (a couple of minor creases only). Tight, appears unread. NOT remainder marked or price-clipped.

New York: Candlewick Press, 1992. First Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Sendak, Maurice. Lovely copy of these classic rhymes with Maurice Sendak illustrations. Very clean internally, jacket has very minimal wear, very crisp.

Alan Swallow, 1951. Cloth. Very Good/Poor. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Small issue from Denver publisher. Jacket poor--large 2 in. by 2 in. piece missing, large tears along spine. Book in Very good condition, Sun/stain to front and rear free endpapers, otherwise without flaws. Inscribed as gift in 1952.

London: Walter Scott. Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. From this publisher's series "The Canterbury Poets". Introductory note by Joseph Skipsey. Small hardcover in green cloth, with paper title label pasted on spine. Boards worn through in several spots. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown, impression of bookplate visible on facing endpaper. Table of contents has a couple of small notations (single letter a,b,c,d next to a title) otherwise clean internally. Binding is sound--deckle edge pages.

Houghton Mifflin, 1899. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Household edition, Brown cloth with gilt wreaths and author's name. Sticker on spine may indicate ex-library, no other markings save previous owner's name on front free endpaper. Front hinge cracked, repaired somewhat crudely. Illustrated, 960 pages.

New York: Nims and Knight, 1885. Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Collection of Tennyson's poems, with numerous black and white illustrations. Gilt foredge, gilding also on spine and front board--front cloth with wonderful decorative pattern. Wear to all corners and edges, a few page corners bent at top. Previous owner's name on front endpaper. Half of blank page between frontis and title is missing, title page has some staining. Interior pages have a touch of browning, but are overall quite good.

Thomas Y. Crowell, 1978. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Mizumura, Kazue. First edition thus: text copyright 1970; illustrations 1978. A lovely volume, retired from a school library with a card pocket present on inside front board. NO other stampings, tape, writing etc; appears unread. Jacket shows price ($5.79 and has one small piece of tape on lower spine. Small chips at top of spine. Illustrated throughout in glorious sepia tones.

Cleveland: World Publishing, 1947. Cloth. Very Good/Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Ewards, Jeanne. Nice hardcover copy of Housman's famous collection, with B&W illustrations by Jeanne Edwards. Very good, with minimal wear to boards, binding sound. Pages slightly browned, gift inscription ffep. Jacket fair, with several tears and small chips.

Chicago: Ralph Fletcher Seymour, 1963. Cloth. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Apparently, according to the available biography, Iris was a con man, plagiarist, forger, impostor... and poet. This slim volume of poetry is VG in a good jacket (1" by 3" piece missing from top of rear panel, some other small tears present). Blurbs, apparently authentic, from Eleanor Roosevelt, Carl Sandburg, and George Bernard Shaw. Certainly an oddity.

A fourth printing (from the year of publication) of this collection of poems from the author of Gift from the Sea. Jacket has a little wear to corners, and some tearing/chipping to hear of spine. Book near fine, save a little wear to boards, also at head of spine. Pages a touch browned, but expected given age.
