There is slight tanning to edges of boards, and light bumping to spine ends and extremities. The pages are uncut, clean and bright. Includes 13 full page pochoir plates, 6 in-text and illustrated map endpapers of Kew Gardens and Kew Green. Robert Herring was a poet who edited 'The London Mercury' and 'Life and Letters Today'. Edward Bawden was an illustrator of books and posters, who became the official war artist of WWII. This is a vibrant and uncommon book. Minor fading to the spines, a few marks to some of the volumes' boards, a little rubbing and wear to spine ends, but generally all in very good condition; very occassional spots internally, a few ink owner's names, otherwise clean. The first part of each volume is the monthly parish notices and newletters, with interesting information for various churches around Chiswick at the turn of the last century - great for the local historian.
