Cloth with gilt-stamped spine. . 372pp. Illus. Map. Notes. Bibliography. Endpaper maps of the great plains from Texas to the Dakotas showing "Four Great Buffalo Herds." The map misspelled the North Dakota city, Bismarck, as Bismark as per the "point" for a first issue. Fine in complete, but pc dj, that has tears on the back panel repaired with old tape on the inside. The dj has a couple of minor and does show some wear. We still easily grade the dj "good" in spite of the old repaired tears on the back.

The former owner, a collector, has his signature, year of purchase, and where purchased on the ffep. A classic on the subject of cattle raising on the Great Plains after the Civil War. Western Frontier Library nice edition. Fine in vg dj.
