Stewart Holbrook's long review in the New York Herald Tribune is cut out and affixed (pasted) to the rear paste down and folded. Now, we present a mystery. Affixed to the verso of the rear free endpaper (facing the newspaper article) and with flaps folded is a dj for the same book, but showing the price of $4.00 on the flap. Both American & Canadian firsts sport the price of $4.50. However, the Holbrook review has $4.00 for the book! The top edge of this extra dj is trimmed back a bit (1/4"). Did the publisher intend to publish at $4.00 retail and change its mind and print the same dj with the higher price? We don't know. Oh, and the original owner of the copy wrote $4.00 on the ffep!
