Dublin: R. Marchbank, 1787 Book. Good. Hardcover. 4 Volume full leather set. leather rubbed around edges. on vol 1 & 4 leather starting to split at gutters. tiny cracks at spine. very light foxing on edges of text. vol. 1 appears to be missing ffep. o/w clean tight copies.

Volumes 1 and 2 ONLY of 4 volume set.
Books are fully leather, in Fair condition, with significant wear to covers. Volume 2 appears to be missing an endpaper. Both volumes have title pages and text pages. Some endpapers coming away at ends, but all pages attached. Prior owner notes in script written in front endpapers of volume 1. Some dampstains and foxing to pages. No markings on text pages.

Incomplete set. Only volumes 2, 3, 4. "A New Edition".
'The Adventurer' was originally published as a bi-weekly paper between 1752 and 1754. Contributors included John Hawkesworth, Samuel Johnson and Joseph Warton.
Books are in Poor condition. Vol 2 both cover boards are still attached, front joint hanging on by threads. Vol. 3 front cover board hanging on by threads, rear board fully detached, as is rear endpaper. Vol. 4 has fully detached front cover board, rear board attached most fully of the set.
Pages are dampstained, spotted throughout. Text is fully readable. Some notes written in margins, Vols. 3 and 4 have pen notes at top of title pages.

Book Condition: Fair. Front cover and first couple pages becoming loose. Stamp at front and end: Library N.Y. Univ.See photos.

Book is in Fair condition, with corners bumped and rubbed, wear to cover, joints cracking, but intact. Some chipping on spine. Possible burn mark on rear cover. Hinges are weak, but intact, front hinge is weakest. Some foxing in front pastedown. Pages are clean and secure.

Book is in Good condition, with wear to cover, some soiling, corner bumped.
Prior owner name written multiple times in front endpapers and on title page (dated 1791). Text pages have some spotting, age-tanning, but mostly clean.

Full leather. Book is in Good- condition, with general wear, edgewear, corners bumped/rubbed. Joints cracked. Two prior owner bookplates on front pastedown. Gift inscription in front endpaper. Pages intact, foxing in endpapers/title page, text pages have some tanning, but otherwise pretty clean.

Amsterdam: Thomas Lombrail, 1707 Book. Very Good. 3/4 Leather. Contemporary rebinding of 3/4 leather in excellent condition; beautiful rebinding job. Minor rubbing to corners, o/w FINE. Marbled endpapers, 14 steel engravings, foldout chart, light foxing.

No date, missing one or more pages from the beginning of the book. Note in rear endpapers of book dated 1792 and a later one dated 1796. Cover boards detached, but present, cover spine still present, at attempt was made at repair at some point, but the leather used has also dried and broken, and mostly peeled off the spine, still mostly present on the cover boards.Half-title page is detached from binding. Aside from the spine-edge of the first page, which is partially detached and worn at that spot, the text block is present and readable, some pages have light dampstains, some general discoloration and wear.

Text in German. Appears to have been re-bound. Current cover is worn. Current spine coming apart, see photos. Text pages intact. Contributor: Johann Albrecht Bengel

J. Osborne and T. Griffin, 1785 Book. Poor. Hardcover. 16mo - over 5" - 6" tall. which contains among other curious Relations, Accounts of the Policy and Manners of the Turks; Drawn from Sources that have been inaccessible to other Travellers" A new edition, four volumes complete in one. Front cover detached (present), pages browned but supple. Margin note on one page, name on fep. Binding tight. Full leather rubbed all around w/chipping to spine. 212pp.

Translated from the French. In four volumes. c.1777. Full leather. Books are in Very Good condition, with light edgewear, hinges becoming weak, most evident on volume 1. Pages have very light foxing.

Chester: P. Broster, 1774 Book. Very Good. Half-Leather. Very Good, rebound in half-leather over marbled boards; po bookplate on fep; notation in pencil on ffep stating "Plomer records Broster (p.36) as 1774-5" (first published in 1714) hence listed publication date, though none given on tp. Rebinding has included 24 blank pages in rear. text block (31pp) shows some age tanning and a little foxing, but all in all, a nice copy; corners lightly rubbed, 1" split starting at bottom front spine.

Book is in Fair condition, with front cover board detached with endpaper (endpaper hanging on to cover board by an ~1/4" bit. Rear hinge delicate but intact, joint cracking. General wear to cover, spine leather rubbed, but details intact. Some writing in endpapers, general light spotting and dampstains. "1775" written in light pencil below "M.DCC.LXXV" on title page. Text pages relatively clean for age, and intact.

Book is in Fair condition, with front cover attached by the thread points. Rear cover joint appears to have been glued, which has made it stiff. Some foxing on endpapers, title page has some discoloration (see photos). Text pages are fairly clean for age, and secure.

London: J. & R. Tonson and S. Draper, 1745 Book. Poor. Hardcover. leather covered boards; front board is worn away about 1/2" at top corner & detaching, but still loosely attached; all edges heavily rubbed , spine brittle and chipped; po names on f & r epp; article about Addison tipped in on fep & ffep; text block tanned, but still fairly supple and tight.

Volume 4 ONLY.
Dublin: E. Lynch, 1784 Book. Fair. Full-Leather. Leather heavily rubbed, especially at corners, (rounded) front hinge cracked, moderate browning throughout, no markings inside.

London: S. Crowder and F. Rivington, 1796 Book. Fair. Hardcover. Fair- condition. Small hardback in full leather w/black spine-label. Covers were detached and later restitched sloppily--barely hanging on. P.O. blindstamp as well as short biography of author tipped in. Text block complete, some pages toned more than others (looks like some pages were of a different paper than others).

In French. 1751. Hardcover, full leather with gold details. Cover edges and corners worn. Book in Poor condition, with both front and back cover coming away at the upper 3/4th of spine. Prior bookplate remnants on front paste down. Some notes written in front endpaper, title page, and first text page.
