No jacket other than remnants of the flap that have been pasted to the ffep. There is also a rusty paperclip scar affecting 4 pages (2 front and back) more or less. Slipped inside the book is "A souvenir of the Meeting of The Civil War Round Table of New York November 1, 1953" and a personal letter handwritten and signed by Meserve, dated 1953. The souvenir includes 4 "contact prints (of Mr./Mrs. Lincoln) from the original glass negatives by Mathew B. Brady in the Meserve Collection" in addition to a photo of Meserve with his signature beneath. Other than moderate foxing on the covers of the souvenir, it is in VG condition and all 5 prints are in FINE condition. The book is tight and straight w/rubbing at spine ends and very light rubbing at corners.

Mandate for Change is copyright dated 1963 and stated Limited Edition, Waging Peace is copyright dated 1965 and stated First Edition.Both books are in Near Fine condition, with only visible fault some very light foxing beginning on top of page edges near spines of both volumes.Both slipcase corners lightly bumped/worn. Top of Mandate for Change slipcase has prior price ($50) in marker still visible under block of black marker, and one of the back corner edges was previously taped, tape no longer present, residue yellowed, light cracking of the corner seems to be what prompted the taping. Gift inscription on front endpaper of both volumes (see photos). Both volumes in original glassine jackets. Waging Peace jacket has very light spotting, but completely intact.
