Ottawa: Canada. Forestry Branch, Department of Resources and Development, 1950. Soft cover. Good. This is a small-format (8 x 6 inches, 27 pages) staple-bound children's picture book It was produced as part of the Canaidan Forestry Branch's forest fire prevention public outreach program.. The author describes it as "designed for use in primary grades" and said that it was to be distributed through provincial Departments of Education, to "help to fill the gap in literature available for primary schools." (Forestry Chronicle,1949, p. 283). This copy is intact, but shows considerable wear. There is a 1 inch split to the top of the spine fold but no other tears or rips. Both the cover and internal pages sow wear and handling, the staples have rusted, and the back cover is stained. The attached scans should give a better idea of condtion.

New York: Coward, McCann & Geoghegan, Inc., 1971. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and fresh, with no marks, signatures or wear. There is a small brown stain on the top edge of the text block, which fortunately does not show in the pages. The illustrated covers show light wear overall, but rubs and spots of missing colour on the bottom edge. The dust jacket has light edgewear, and slight fading to the spine. Synpsis. This is a children's picture book featuring three African-American boys. Adam, Arthur and Albert "live in the city in the same apartment house. What they like to do every day -- at home, in school, and after school, is followed through each letter of the alphabet.

There is a small gift inscription to a former owner on the title page, but no other marks and very few signs of previous use. The illustrated covers are bright, with minor wear to tips and corners. The red cloth over paper spine shows little wear. The dust jacket is also in very good condition, again with bright colours and just a touch of edge wear, but no rips, chips or damage. A very nice copy.

The green and burgundy binding is fresh, with just a hint of wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is price-clipped, but is otherwise in excellent condition, with minimal edgewear. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: This is a children's picture book. "In lushly detailed paintings, alphabet and garden are woven together. Samuel Lowe. Hardcover. Very Good. This is an ABC board book, in very good condition. The interior is clean and fresh, and the "activity wheel" on the front cover is present and undamaged. There is no date on the book, but it looks to be from the 1950s.
