More notes: Some readers have complained about science and plot issues but author is on to bigger ideas; ie: "Once you've persuaded people that their self interest aligns with yours, they'll follow you like a river to the sea" (p.286). As for the science: author describes Earth as becoming 'tidally locked' with the sun in the same way the moon is locked with the Earth.

Four volume hardcover set of Verne titles. The standout feature of this set is the condition which is Near Fine. Decorative blind stamped boards of blue cloth. Minor abrasions can be seen on the front and rear boards. The interiors have no writing, folds or other evidence of use. The paper is moderately toned and somewhat fragile. The only defect I can find is the ffep of Michael Strogoff which partially cracked when I was trying to image the title page. So handle with care, these are not reading copies. A curious feature seen in three volumes is the font size drops in the final few pages. Volumes are 7.25 x 5 inches. A very cool set with nice shelf presence. This is an uncommon edition. Fisher Unwin London Atlantic Limited Edition #350/620, signed by author, 28 volumes complete. 1924. Overall condition is very good with the following defects noted: leading edges of all boards show wear at top corner (see image), a few gutters have cracked paper (all binding is sound), sunning to spines. Interiors are a high point. Prior book sellers pencil note in volume 1 otherwise no markings or bookplates. All page gatherings remain uncut except for a few in vol. 1.
