Memmingen (Bavaria): Edition Curt Visel, 1973 ¶ AN ORIGINAL LINOCUT SIGNED BY THE ARTIST, depicting a man imprisoned in a tower or pergola surmounted by a giant octopus, set in a volcanic wasteland relieved only by a peacock lower right. A bifolium of machine-made wove paper, unmarked, loose as issued. Contents: [1] linocut (202 x 156 mm) printed in black, signed "Strauchmann" in pencil lower right;…

These pieces are enhanced here by reproductions of eight unpublished or obscurely-published drawings by Rimbaud's childhood friend Delahaye (3), by Germain Nouveau (3), and by Verlaine himself (2): Two of these drawings (Verlaine 1875, Delahaye 1880) include caricatures of Rimbaud. ||| Collation: In 8s (183 x 120 mm): 42 leaves, paginated [1-6] 7-74 [75-84].
